We have an ottoman that matches your chair. It was a hand-me-down from some friends when we moved into this house 10 or so years ago. A few Christmases back, I had a party and spilled some olive oil on it. At first, I felt compelled to figure out how to clean it (very difficult, as it happens). Now I like it how it is-with a sort of Mikael Gorbachev style stain right in the middle. I prop my legs up on this ottoman every morning when I write. I don't want it to ever change.
